Valentine’s Day Tag with Paper Flowers

image

Hi friends! It’s great to be back creating what I love — paper flowers!

For Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d give the husband a tag album. The tags inside had love notes and why I am so grateful to have him. The cover tag had some itty bitty paper flower embellishments and some calligraphy. I prefer using the pointed pen but my supplies are still in the boxes (transferring my supplies takes a village and a year, Tee Hee!), so the brush pen it is. This cardstock was quite textured so the ink bleeds too much. No big deal though :) The husband doesn’t mind.

But I enjoyed thoroughly creating these tiny roses. Quite challenging especially when you ink the edges, but never daunting. Always fun!

The cardstocks I used to create the flowers were from IFEX. You can check their website here  and check out their paper products. I got mine from National Bookstore.  Find the packaging with the label that says ‘Worx’. This is 200 GSM in cream.

I love working with cream paper because you can always ink the paper using your favorite markers, watercolor or inks and it gives you a very beautiful hue and life-like colors to your flowers. Here I’m using distress inks from Tim Holtz. I used Picked Raspberry and Peacock feathers.

I also used my Cuttlebug from The Happy Station to cut the tiny petals. It makes my life so much easier! You can always cut your petals using scissors but the intricate details to this beautiful die from Tim Holtz just makes a whole lot of difference.  Please visit their website here to purchase yourown Cuttlebug. It’s a really good investment.

I think they came out really pretty, don’t you think?

You can always experiment with whatever supplies you have but choose the right cardstock. I always say this in my workshops, ‘it always begins and ends with beautiful paper.’

Incidentally, I will have a paper crafts demo on the 11th of March, 2018 at Ayala Center Cebu for the Stationery and Art Fair presented by IFEX. Please join me as I share some paper crafts projects using the cardstocks from IFEX. I will also bring my cuttlebug so you guys can see how it works.

I’m over the moon excited because they will also launch the Paper Bar at National Bookstore!

Do you know what that means? More cardstocks readily available for Cebuanos! (happy dance!). More gorgeous paper = more paper crafts!

Happy days are here, Cebu!

See you!

Crop and Plan Party Cebu 2015

imageAfter much prodding from my fellow planner and journal enthusiasts in my city, I am organizing the much-anticipated and the first ‘Crop and Plan Party Cebu 2015’. This is happening on the 6th of December, 1;30-5;30 PM at Brique Modern Kitchen, Lahug, Cebu City.

More than just a Meet and Greet , I’m organizing this event to create a community and bring together crafters, artisans, designers, planner enthusiasts and makers – all to CELEBRATE CREATIVITY. This is my little way of spreading kindness and sharing the love for crafts, journals and planners. But Why Crop and Plan? Planning nowadays has evolved not just plain writing to-do’s and errand lists. Planning and journaling now involves lots of creativity through decorating them using stamps, stickers, journaling cards to name a few. So Crop and Plan it is!

One of the highlights during our event is a ‘planning/crop together’ activity which will hopefully focus on goal-setting for the coming year. What I’m so giddy about is the overwhelming support from this amazing community of designers, artisans, plannners and crafters both local and abroad. They have shared some of their products which will will be included in each goodie bag the attendees will receive. I’m over the moon excited for this! we will be posting some sneaks over on our Instagram account: marrylcrafts for our kind sponsors.

I’m also looking forward to the “share your planner spread” activity. Each attendee is expected to share one of their planner spreads and one planner inspiration they can share to the group. It can be anything from the type of inserts they use, to word prompts that they regularly use or decorating tips they want to share. Therefore, all attendees must bring at least one planner they’re currentlyusing and share one planner spread.

Registration fee is only P750 which covers food and drinks from Brique Restaurant, event kit which includes goodies from our kind sponsors, event suplies and other incrementals. Please fill out the registration form and pay the registration fee (ticket)  to guarantee your seat.  Click on the link for the registration Registration Form
